Minecraft tier list templates

A Minecraft tier list maker for mobs, biomes, versions or food. Add screenshots or item names, drag them into S through F, and export a PNG of the ranking argument you were already having in voice chat on the realm.

Also known as: minecraft mob tier list, minecraft biome ranking, minecraft version tier list, minecraft food tier list.

Be the first. Make a Minecraft tier list, publish it with "Share as a template" ticked and pick Minecraft as the subject: it shows up here for everyone who searches for one.

What people usually rank

Minecraft lists work when the set is a category in the game, not "everything in the game".

  • Mobs, hostile or all of them, which is the most common board.
  • Biomes, which is an image list and should look like one.
  • Versions and updates, as a short nostalgia ranking.
  • Food, which is a closed vanilla set and finishes in one sitting.
  • Blocks used for building, cut to a palette or it becomes a creative-inventory dump.

How to make a Minecraft tier list

  1. Pick a category in the game. Mobs, biomes, food, versions. "Everything in Minecraft" is not a list, it is the creative inventory. Cut the set so the picture is readable at a glance.
  2. Add screenshots or names. Biome shots for a biome list, mob screenshots or text for a mob list. Food can be item icons or just the words; everyone knows what steak looks like.
  3. Say whether this is useful or liked. Creepers are S on "changed the game" and F on "please go away". The row labels should say which one you meant.
  4. Export the picture. PNG for the Discord. Publish a link if the realm wants to remix it.

What you can do

  • Closed vanilla sets (food, a mob type, the biomes) fit on one board without scrolling forever.
  • Image entries for biomes and builds, text entries for versions and items.
  • Row labels you can rename to "would build with / never again".
  • Descriptions under entries for the version a mob arrived in.
  • Works on a phone, which is where a lot of these get made between sessions.
  • PNG export, no account, nothing drawn over the screenshots.

Make your own tier list

Mobs

The default Minecraft list. Hostile only, or everything including the ones that just stand there.

Biomes

An image list. The placement is usually about building, not about the mob spawn table, and the title should say so.

Versions

A short nostalgia board. 1.8, 1.12, 1.16, whatever the server still runs.

Food

A closed vanilla set. Golden carrots versus steak is a real argument and it does not need 200 entries.

Common questions

Can I rank every block?

You can add as many entries as you like. A palette, a use (building, redstone, decoration), or a small set will actually get finished. The full creative inventory will not.

Should I include mods?

Only if the title says so. A vanilla list with a few modded mobs sneaked in is how the comments become a rules fight.

Is this an official Minecraft product?

No. Minecraft is a trademark of its owner. This is a blank ranking board you fill yourself.

Can I use screenshots from my world?

Yes. Those are often the best biome pictures, because they are the ones you actually built in.

Do I need an account?

Not to make or export. Publishing a public page needs an account.
