How to make a blank Philippines map
- Open the Philippines map. Start from the panel above, which is already the editor. What a click paints here is one province. There are 115 of them, all listed further down this page: check that list before you start, it is the whole of what this map can colour.
- Write the legend before you paint. Add one entry per category and say what it means in your own words. The legend is part of the exported image, so a map that made sense to you at midnight still makes sense to someone who sees it cold.
- Fill the provinces. Every click paints one province. Fill everything in a baseline colour first and then paint the exceptions, or paste a table of provinces and values and let the colour scale do it.
- Export or publish. Download a PNG, JPEG, SVG or PDF at the size you ask for, or publish for a link with a preview image.

How many provinces are on the Philippines map?
115, every one of them a separate shape you can click and fill. The list above runs from Abra to Zamboanga Sibugay. They are the first-level divisions of the Philippines as the source data draws them, credited on our credits page, so a merged or disputed area appears the way the source has it.
Does the Philippines share a land border with anyone on this map?
No. On the world map no other country's outline touches it, so a map of the Philippines with its neighbours is a map of coastlines: pick the countries across the water on the world map and colour them together.
Is the Philippines on a bigger map here too?
Yes. The Philippines is one of the countries on the Asia map, and on the world map, where it can be opened into its own provinces beside its neighbours at theirs.
Can I colour something smaller than a province?
Not on this map. It works at province level, which is the level nearly every map of the Philippines is drawn at.
Can I put the names on the map itself?
Yes. Region labels can be switched on for the whole map, in a colour and size you choose, and you can write your own text for any province where the real name is too long to fit. On a busy map most people leave the labels off and let the legend carry it.
Do I need an account?
No. The editor opens straight away, the map stays in this browser while you work, and exporting an image never asks you to sign in. An account only matters if you want to publish a map at a link other people can open.
Can I use the exported map commercially?
The image is yours, and we ask for no credit: the only mark on it is the site address in small type in the bottom corner, and nothing is drawn across the map. Nothing from the map data is added to the picture either, because we only ship boundary data whose licence is satisfied by naming it on our credits page, so there is no credit line to print and nothing for you to pass on. Anything you add to the map stays your own.
